I have been teaching Pilates for over 18 years and was certified as a Pilates instructor in the authentic method by Joseph Pilates’ protege, Romana Kryzanowska. I trained at Drago’s Gymanasium (which became True Pilates NY) in New York City where I underwent over 600 hours of a very rigorous apprenticeship with two of the most respected instructors in the Pilates industry, Romana Kryzanowska and her daughter Sari Mejia Santos. 

Pilates is an effective form of exercise for all body types, ages, and skill levels. I teach privately on Gratz apparatus.  Sessions are geared specifically toward the individual. The benefits of Pilates are endless. Joseph Pilates believed that all movements of the body stem from the core so no matter what area we are working on, the core muscles are engaged and involved. Pilates is effective at increasing muscle strength and tone, improving flexibility and posture, and improving balance. Due to the focus on the core of the body, Pilates is very effective at alleviating chronic back pain and, when taught by a knowledgeable teacher, for preventing future injuries.

-Pilates sessions are done either privately or as a semi-private (two people) using Gratz apparatus.

Pilates is done on apparatus that uses spring resistance. This strengthens and lengthens the muscles being worked, leading to lean muscle mass and increased flexibility. Pilates has been shown to be very effective against osteopenia and osteoporosis due to it’s unique method of strength-training.
